The ex-Colorado gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez is going to settle back down in Lafayette, in the Indian Peaks neighborhood that once was farmed by the Beauprez family. He has implied he is still interested in elected office. Given the lackluster support he received at the polls in Lafayette, and Boulder County in general, it may not be local office he's considering. (He received 26% of the vote; Ritter received 71%. A smattering of votes went to third party candidates, see the official results here.)

The Daily Times Call quotes some of Beauprez's sentiments: asked how he felt about the lack of support he received from voters in his home turf, Beauprez said, “There’s no secret what Boulder County is like right now for Republicans.”
I'm curious if any proud Republicans have any thoughts on his return. Is it a factor at all in the local Republican Party's outlook on 2007?
